What age can I start feeding Nutro to my puppy?
The change from mother’s milk to puppy food should be made gradually over 10 days. From about 4 weeks, start by adding water and mashing the Nutro Puppy food into a porridge. Introduce the dry food, again gradually, after 5 weeks.

How often should I feed my puppy?
We recommend:
Up to 3 months, 4 times a day
Over 3 months, 2 to 3 times a day

What age should I change from Nutro Puppy food to Nutro Adult food?
We recommend changing at approximately 12 months or 18 months for large breed dogs.
When changing from puppy food to adult it’s best to do this over a week, gradually reducing the puppy food and increasing the adult food each day.

Do I have to moisten Nutro?
Nutro dog and cat foods are complete and do not need anything added. You can however, damp down Nutro foods if your dog or cat prefers this. If you feed Nutro foods dry, please make sure that water is available at all times.

What is the shelf life of Nutro foods?
We have perfected our system of naturally preserving our foods. Under the correct conditions, Nutro should stay fresh for approx. 14 months. Extreme temperatures, improper storage and other factors can affect the freshness.

Does your food contain chemical preservatives?
No, our foods are naturally preserved with Vitamin E. We never use chemicals like BHA, BHT, ethoxyquin, propyl gallate or sodium hexametaphosphate.

How often should I feed my adult dog?
Feed a mature dog twice a day, or reduce to once a day if you must. Feeding times should be the same from day to day. Remember, Puppies and dogs thrive on consistency.

How much food should I feed my pet?
Feeding amounts should be adjusted to meet the needs of the individual dog or cat and the feeding guide is a suggested quantity. The amount your dog or cat will require to maintain its optimum weight will depend on its age, environment, condition, temperament and activity.

Should I feed table scraps?
We do not recommend “improving” a puppy or dog food with table scraps or leftovers. This alters the carefully balanced mix of ingredients in the food and can cause diarrhea, vomiting, allergic reactions, or excessive weight gain.
